    My limited understanding about the GC process is that from the day I-485 is filed, a person may change his/her job only after 180 days or more, and of course by filing AC 21.
    Also, in case the I-485 does not get approved within the 180 days after filing, then how can a person change a job without having an EAD.
    A person can EAD only once I-485 is approved? Is that correct.

    Please throw some light on the above points. Thanks in advance.

    How do I get a black border around a box I make using the rectangle tool in Photoshop 6.0? I know there is an easy way to do so, since I see it so often. Did I accidently turn that off, as in, it originally is there, or do I have to toggle something? :q:

    Could some one please clarify?

    My wife and I were entered on AP lately and since I work for the same employer, I am still working on my H1 and am planning to extend my H1. My wife is working on EAD, can she still able to apply for H4 based on my H1? We want to have her H4 as a back-up!

    i don't personally know any attorney nor do I have any experience. But I know that anyone (including Indians) will qualify and this is always current and no labor cert needed. You can go from 140 to 485 in a short period of time and then get a 2 yr conditional GC after which if u still maintian ur initial invest (500k or 1M depending on target area of investment) then u will get final GC.

    In Ohio, they issue a DL for one year from the application for H1B extension if the H1B has not been approved yet. It might be the same case in NC as well - it might be worth checking.

    I could take upto 3 months of sabbatical partially paid (1st month:100%, 2nd,3rd-50%) - I am currently on H1 Visa and working for the employer who sponsered by GC. I would like to know if there is any effect of taking sabbatical on my pending I485 ?

    Since you're on H1 that might be a problem as your W2 will reflect the lwage info . You can either take a leave of absence for a month or 2 (not more than that) If there's a query during H1 extension , you can let them know that you had taken a leave. Draft a leave letter and mail it to the employer so that he has it in records.

    But if you use your EAD it doesnt matter. You dont have to worry about the 3months.

    In the interview letter I received they did ask for Medical but it also mentioned I could attend even if I do not have it. After attending the interview it did feel like that was the reason why they called us - they wanted my wife to go throught her medical again.

    Sorry I'm not sure of I684(Affidavit of Support). They did not ask me for it.

    Recently , a friend of mine who lost his job while on EAD had these questions.

    1. He has EAD and H1B both valid till 2010. What should he use to get a jbo, ead ot h1b, what are some of the good reasons to avoid using ead as ar as possible?

    2. Is he eligible for unemployment allowance.

    If there is any thread where these have been answered please direct me there. Thanks

    Guys,

    Friend of mine has got H1B1 visa stamped now. But we just found out that on his passport ECNR is not deleted. ECNR is still required there.

    Can you guys help us to understand what this is? Do we need to remove ECNR before he travel to UR? He has BE (Mech).

    When I came to US my ECNR was deleted and I am also graduate.

    Your help appreciated.
