All i know is that as of yesterday there were only 18000 applications for Masters quota.
Why did not they get filled as fast as the Regular quota?
This is the reasoning my lawyer gave....
"Most of the applicants for Master's quota were in confusion after April 3 after reading several bulletins about 200,000 or so H1-B applications. And some people didn't even apply thinking that the USCIS may have received more than enough master's quota applications even though the bulletin said that they were accepting more applications for Master's quota."
I know of people who have submitted fresh H1-B applications under master's quota as late as April 7th.
So guys, wait for the official numbers. Don't believe me. But do compare when the official news is released.

It is a case to sign in native language...
Well, if you forgot to fill the native language thing but signed the form, you don't have to worry about anything. Although the form is incomplete, the officer has no way of knowing for sure that your native alphabet is other than English... You may or may not get an RFE on this later...

I have been working for company X on an H1-B.
* They filed for an EB-3 Labor Certification (RIR) and I-140 with a priority date of April 2003 on my behalf.
* My H1-B expired in March 2006 and they filed for a 3-year extension, which was approved (till March 2009).
* In the meantime, both my Labor and I-140 were approved. I had been waiting to apply for my I-485 since then.
* Now, I'm switching employers (because of a RIF in company X) to company Y, who were working on making me an offer.
* However, company Y's legal department came back saying that they cannot apply for an H1-B transfer because the current law doesn't allow transfers from an H1-B extension (after the original 6-year H1-B has expired).
Could somebody advise me if this is really true?

I am planning to do concurrent filing on my PERM LC.
1. When will I get my AP/EAD? Will I get it only after I-140 is approved or I-140 approval does not matter?
2. Can I do premium processing on my I-140 in the concurrent filing?
3. Does premium processing available if another I-140 is already pending based on my LC Sub?
Please reply.

That is not entirely true. Websites like Indymedia are NOT the same as the Fox News Network. This organization is the new equivalent of MoveOn.org.
When I have taken the effort to tell people the real issues at hand with the legal immigration reform needed, they DO CARE.
Indymedia is effectively a news blog run by an organization with liberal, activiist sensibilities.
We must remain open minded and creative when thinking of other avenues to spread the word. A very quick look at the site and they show TREMENDOUS support for immigration rights.

Hello
I have received so many different responses regarding the shots required for over 65s. Our local health department, the INS Doctor and the INS all seem to be providing different information, I'm hoping someone can clarify.
The civil surgeon provided us with a list of shots, basically it contained all the shots including those that I thought were just for children. We went to a public health nurse today who gave us TDP and Varicella shots. Are the MMR, flu and pneumococcal shots required by the INS?
The INS approved Doctor wanted $600 per person for all of the shots. The exam and blood test were $120. We've decided to go to a private Doctor and the local health department for the shots instead of paying the $600. I'm hoping someone can clarify what is needed so that we avoid paying for shots that are not needed.

I went through the same and it was fairly easy and not stressing.. you have to have copies of your passport ( the persons applying for extension and copies of the return tickets of the flights back home, you need a form : I-539 and fill it up, print it and send it with all the documentation they require, it would be advisable to have a sponsor or a person who certifies that will be financially in care of her expenses. ( forgot the form number but i think is I-139 ..please check ) and once you got all those requirements send them with 300 $ that costs the application process and in less then 4 weeks you will get a letter with either the aproval or the denial of the stay. If your I-94 expires while you wait for the form do not worry cause you are not going into illegal state while the USICIS is processing your application. GOOD LUCK !! and enjoy your ceremony !!

the change in salary ($76K to 120K) is a cause for concern. It depends how long ago you filed your labor. If it has been greater than 5 years, IMO the salary change may be ok. Rather than the titles, the job duties have to reasonably match.

I don't understand whats problem with fragomen - they will do everything in paper - never e-file a thing. I see lot of people e-filed their I-140 and already got notice date (second day of efile)!
Mine is in EB2 case and I had sent all documents (VOEs, Letters from HR of prev employers, W2 and usual) while labor was being filed itself.

Can we use automatic revalidation to enter USA without getting our visa's stamped. My h1 expired in 2006 and my spouse�s H4 expired in 2006.
(Remember my spouse is applying for H1 )
ANSWER:: No, with Canadian GC you can not enter USA for long term work, without stamping. I think entry for one month is permitted.
QUESTION:: How safe it is Frequent travel to Canada and back
ANSWER:: It is safe to cross US and Canada border, if you have multiple entry visa.
QUESTION:: How safe it is to stay in Canada for duration of 3-6 months and come back to USA
ANSWER:: As long as you are in H1 B there is no restriction. In future if you enter I-485, there are complications, if you continue to travel back and forth at that time too.

I'm sure the following questions have been asked several times too. What are the answers in the following scenarios:
After 485 filing and before 180 days:
- Person loses job and is unemployed. Does the 485 stage continue? Does AP and EAD assigned to this person still continue to work?
- If this person finds another job (based on EAD or H1), does the 485 process continue? Or does the whole GC process needs to restart?
